en.Wedoany.com Reported - Natural Power, a renewable energy consultancy and service provider, will deliver comprehensive ground investigation (GI) services for two proposed wind farms in Scotland owned by Vattenfall. The two wind farms are the 100MW Ourack project and the 90MW Quantans Hill project. This appointment continues a partnership between the two organizations spanning over 15 years, with Natural Power having previously provided long-term support for Vattenfall's UK renewable energy projects.

Under the contract, Natural Power will carry out a ground investigation work program covering both sites, providing foundational data for wind farm design and development. The investigation scope includes rotary core drilling, sampling, and detailed geological logging, trial pitting and in-situ geotechnical performance testing, peatland surveys, electrical resistivity and seismic refraction geophysical surveys, as well as aerial topographic surveys using semi-autonomous drone technology.
The survey results will provide geotechnical, geological, and environmental data to support detailed project design, while also being used to assess and mitigate construction risks and inform engineering decisions as the projects progress.
Natural Power's multidisciplinary construction and geotechnical team will execute this work by combining specialist site investigation techniques with advanced survey methods, delivering high-quality data to Vattenfall to support the subsequent stages of project development.
Ralph Spernagel, Construction Director at Natural Power, stated that the company is honored to continue its long-standing partnership with Vattenfall by supporting these proposed wind projects. The two organizations have worked together on multiple projects over the years, jointly driving the growth of UK renewable energy capacity, and this latest contract marks a significant milestone in that relationship. Ground investigation is fundamental to the successful development of wind farms, providing the information needed for design optimization, project risk control, and efficient construction. The company integrates specialist capabilities such as geotechnical investigation, geophysical surveys, peatland assessment, and drone surveying into a unified service, helping clients advance their projects with high-quality data.
In the renewable energy sector, Natural Power has long provided ground investigation and construction support services, establishing stable service capabilities and assisting developers in managing project risk through site surveys and technical expertise. This contract award once again confirms its position as a service partner to renewable energy developers and reflects its continued support for the delivery of new onshore wind projects in the UK, contributing to the country's transition to a low-carbon energy system.
