en.Wedoany.com Reported - RWE has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with Google for electricity from the Crooked Creek solar project in Oklahoma, USA. This project is RWE's first solar project in Oklahoma, with its entire 155 MW capacity dedicated to Google to support its operations in the Southwest Power Pool market.

The Crooked Creek solar project, located in McCurtain County, is scheduled to begin construction later this year, with a target of commercial operation in 2028. According to RWE's estimates, the construction phase will generate approximately $24.3 million in local economic activity, contribute $1.4 million in state and local tax revenue, and create up to 250 jobs at peak construction. Once operational, the project is expected to bring approximately $25 million in revenue to McCurtain County, supporting local programs, emergency services, schools, and technical education centers.

Ingmar Ritzenhofen, Chief Commercial Officer of RWE Americas, stated that this agreement reflects the growing demand for affordable, reliable, and locally produced energy, and demonstrates the role of strategic partnerships in accelerating new energy development, creating jobs, and generating local tax revenue. Will Conkling, Director of Energy and Power at Google, stated that the agreement adds critical new generation capacity to the local grid, helping to improve the supply of affordable and reliable electricity in Oklahoma and the region.

In addition to the Crooked Creek project, RWE also operates the Boiling Springs wind project in Oklahoma and has six other energy projects under development, with a total capacity of 1.6 GW.

Last month, RWE's Nordseecluster A offshore wind farm delivered its first power to the German grid after the installation of its first turbine.
