en.Wedoany.com Reported - We Energies announced that, in response to continued growth in electricity demand, the company has begun construction on three energy projects in Wisconsin, encompassing solar, wind, and battery storage. These projects are expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 100,000 homes and support the grid during peak demand periods.

These three projects are part of We Energies' "all-of-the-above" generation strategy, aimed at providing customers with safe, reliable energy around the clock.

The newly launched projects include: the Darien Battery Storage Project in Walworth County, with a capacity of 75 MW, which broke ground last week; this project is part of the Darien Solar and Battery Park, where a 250 MW solar project was connected to the grid in 2025. The Dawn Harvest Solar and Battery Park in Rock County, featuring 150 MW of solar capacity and 50 MW of co-located battery storage, broke ground in June of this year. The Badger Hollow Wind Center in Iowa County and Grant County, with a capacity of 110 MW, broke ground in July of this year.

All three projects have been approved by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.

We Energies President Mike Hooper stated that these renewable energy projects are part of the strategy to enhance grid reliability by balancing Wisconsin's local energy mix—including renewables and state-of-the-art natural gas generation. In addition to meeting growing electricity demand, these three projects will provide hundreds of workers with high-paying, union-first jobs.

Overall, We Energies has more than 3,000 MW of solar and wind projects and more than 600 MW of battery storage projects that are either in operation, under construction, or submitted for regulatory approval.

We Energies will be the majority owner of these new projects, with Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) and Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) as co-owners.
