en.Wedoany.com Reported - EU Gold Mining has announced results from its initial diamond drilling program at the Kimoukro gold project in Côte d'Ivoire, carried out by its wholly-owned subsidiary K Mining. The drilling confirmed bedrock gold mineralization at Kimoukro, with high-grade gold intersections encountered in multiple holes.
This program formed part of the company's 2026 exploration campaign, comprising 17 oriented diamond drill holes totaling 2.59 meters, designed to initially test targets delineated by geological mapping, soil and auger geochemistry, trenching, artisanal mining areas, ground magnetics, and induced polarization/resistivity surveys.
Drilling intersected mineralized structures in metasedimentary rocks, granodiorite-tonalite intrusions, and locally favorable mafic dikes. Multiple holes returned high-grade gold intersections, with visible gold observed in drill core from holes K26DD002 and K26DD016; hole K26DD004 returned repeated mineralization, and hole K26DD011 intersected a second 2-meter mineralized interval starting at 98 meters, grading 1.78 g/t gold.
EU Gold Mining stated that the initial drilling has significantly refined the geological and structural interpretation at Kimoukro. The existing data support a model comprising multiple mineralized zones, lenses, and high-to-medium-grade shoots, with three main mineralization styles identified: first, quartz-carbonate-sericite shear-vein systems hosted in metasedimentary rocks; second, intrusion-hosted or intrusion-margin mineralization associated with altered and locally mylonitized granodiorite-tonalite bodies; and third, mineralized shear-vein zones developed along contacts of altered mafic dikes.
The company also integrated the drilling results with surface geochemistry, artisanal mining areas, structural interpretation, and re-evaluated geophysical data to define multiple priority follow-up areas. Additional targets remain within the broader deformation corridor and in currently undrilled geophysical anomalies east and west of the main drilling area; peripheral targets require further geological and geochemical validation before drill testing.
EU Gold Mining indicated that the initial program demonstrates that the remaining key technical uncertainties are not the presence of bedrock gold mineralization, but rather the geometry, continuity, true thickness, and repetition of high-grade mineralized shoots. The company is evaluating a second-phase exploration program, initially proposed to commence with approximately 2,500 meters of oriented diamond drilling. This phase will employ short drill fences, opposing or "scissor" hole orientations, and targeted step-out drilling to constrain the strike and dip of the main mineralized vein systems, determine the true thickness of high-grade intersections, test continuity along strike and down dip, assess the control of structural intersections and intrusive contacts on high-grade shoots, and confirm whether similar mineralized structures repeat beyond the current drilling area. Depending on subsequent results, the company may also undertake broader systematic drilling and, where appropriate, incorporate reverse circulation (RC) drilling to evaluate the scale and continuity of the mineralized corridor.
The Kimoukro project remains at the exploration stage. The company stated that although the initial drilling confirmed bedrock gold mineralization and high-grade gold-bearing structures, drill hole spacing is wide and irregular, and the continuity, geometry, and true thickness of individual mineralized zones have not yet been established. No mineral resources or ore reserves have been estimated for the project, and additional drilling is required to determine the continuity, dimensions, and grade distribution of the mineralized structures.
