Cobar Shire Council has issued a notice of determination to Peak Gold Mines. The expansion is underpinned by Aurelia's Tailings & Water Management Project, Tertiary Ball Mill Project, and Crushing & Materials Handling Expansion Project.

Aurelia's Interim Chief Executive Officer, Martin Cummings, stated that securing the development consent aligns the approved processing capacity with the company's growth plans to increase mining and processing rates across its operations in the Cobar Basin. The plant expansion is now in its final stages, with the new tailings thickener commissioned in June 2026; the Tertiary Ball Mill Project is progressing as scheduled and is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of FY2027; and planning work for the Crushing & Materials Handling Expansion Project continues to advance in line with the overall mine production increase plan.

Peak is one of Aurelia's two operations in the Cobar Basin, where the company operates three underground base metal mines across the Peak and Federation operations. Additionally, Aurelia is progressing the Great Cobar Project at Peak, a permitted high-grade copper development project.
