en.Wedoany.com Reported - BYD has launched solar kit sales at 233 dealerships in Brazil. The program does not require the purchase or ownership of the brand's vehicles; any consumer can buy it, including owners of other car brands.

This move combines photovoltaic power generation products with the company's electric mobility business, expanding BYD's footprint in Brazil's solar market. According to Alexandre Baldy, Senior Vice President of BYD Brasil and Head of Marketing and Sales at BYD Auto, selling at dealerships aims to broaden the reach of solar power solutions and closely link them with electric mobility.

The kit consists of eight 600 W photovoltaic modules, with a total installed capacity of 4.8 kWp, and includes an inverter, mounting structure, cables, and connectors. According to BYD, the estimated average power generation is approximately 600 kWh per month, depending on operating conditions and available solar resources.

The kit bundles system equipment, installation, certification with the electricity distributor, and one-year insurance into a single contract. Henrique Antunes, Director of Quality and Value Chain at BYD Brasil, stated that this is a standardized solution that consolidates the main required components and services into one package, making the installation process simpler and more convenient.

The modules in the kit are produced at BYD's factory in Campinas (São Paulo state). Through localized equipment production, BYD integrates module manufacturing, distributed generation, and electric mobility into the dealerships' commercial offering, while expanding its physical sales network for photovoltaic products. Previously, BYD had already operated in Brazil's solar market through its module and power generation solutions business.

The program was launched alongside the release of the new plug-in hybrid model Song Pro Flex. Consumers who purchase this SUV in cash or through financing via Banco Santander can pay for the solar kit in 36 installments, each fixed at R$512 (US$99.23), with zero down payment and zero interest. This condition excludes the financial operations tax (IOF) of R$578.62 and the registration fee of R$1,149, both of which must be paid separately. Customers who already own a BYD vehicle or a car from another brand can also finance the kit through Banco Santander, with monthly interest rates starting at 1.69% depending on the transaction terms.
