Anesco's Three Solar and Storage Projects Secure Lombard Financing in the UK
en.Wedoany.com Reported - UK renewable energy developer Anesco has secured financing from Lombard for three of its solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects. The financing covers two solar farms and one battery energy storage system, located across Cambridgeshire, Scotland, and Staffordshire in England.

The three projects are at different stages of development. The Woodwalton solar farm in Cambridgeshire, with a capacity of 21MWp, is already operational; the Rothienorman battery energy storage system (BESS, 50MW/100MWh) in Scotland is nearing completion of construction and is about to commence commissioning; and the Coven solar farm in Staffordshire, with a capacity of 48.5MWp, recently reached financial close, paving the way for the next phase of development.
Anesco CEO Hildagarde McCarville stated that securing financing for three projects at different stages of their lifecycle simultaneously demonstrates the company's expertise in project delivery, pipeline portfolio, and partnerships. She added that these facilities, developed in collaboration with Lombard, will help drive the UK's energy transition and strengthen energy security, while creating long-term value for relevant stakeholders.
On Lombard's side, this investment aligns with its positioning to support energy security and the financing of decarbonization infrastructure. Tom Bosson, Head of Renewable Energy Lending at Lombard, said that this financing covers both solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects, and that Woodwalton, Rothienorman, and Coven reflect the scale and diversity of the UK's current energy transition infrastructure. Anesco is an experienced developer, and the collaboration between the two parties helps channel capital into renewable energy and energy storage technologies, which are expected to play a significant role in enhancing grid resilience and the UK's path to achieving net zero emissions.
