en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Pure Data Centres Group confirmed that its LON01 data center campus in Brent Cross, North London, has entered its final major construction phase, with main contractor Glencar having commenced piling works for the LON01 B2 west-side building. B2 is designed with an IT capacity of 70MW and adds over 23,000 square meters of new floor space, bringing the total capacity of the entire LON01 campus to 90MW upon completion.

Glencar's scope of work for this phase includes piling and foundation works, underground utilities, superstructure, structural connections to the existing east-side Cold Shell, concrete and floor slabs, stair cores, building envelope, and roofing works. Construction is progressing within the already operational data center campus, and upon completion of the west-side Cold Shell, it will together with the existing building form the overall B2 facility.

The B2 project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2029. The campus is designed with a closed-loop liquid cooling infrastructure, targeting high-density AI inference and cloud computing workloads. Pure DC's existing first 20MW building at LON01 is already operational, making this construction a clear engineering milestone in the campus's expansion from 20MW to 90MW.

The overall development investment for the LON01 campus exceeds £1 billion. The main contractor arrangement for this B2 expansion had been finalized previously, with Glencar having been confirmed to undertake the relevant construction work during the early contract stage; the new milestone in September marks the formal entry into piling and structural construction on site, rather than a new main contractor award.

Pure DC has not yet disclosed details regarding B2 server counts, per-rack power density, liquid cooling equipment suppliers, or end-customer configurations. The current project timeline is now clearly defined as: main contractor confirmation — B2 west-side piling commencement — continued superstructure and mechanical/electrical infrastructure construction — planned completion in the second quarter of 2029.
