Envision Energy Completes Installation of First Turbine at the 128MW Nearshore Wind Project in Vinh Long, Vietnam

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the first EN-226/8.X MW turbine was installed at Envision Energy's 128MW nearshore wind project in Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, marking the project's official entry into the batch turbine installation phase. The project is developed by REE Group and comprises two projects: the 48MW V1-3 Phase II and the 80MW V1-5&6 Phase II, with a total of 16 EN-226/8.X MW units. The on-site installation of the first turbine took less than 7 days, and the installation time for the second unit was reduced to less than 5 days. Installation of the remaining units is currently continuing.

In January of this year, Envision Energy signed a 128MW turbine supply contract with REE Group, with the equipment scope covering the above two projects. All 16 units adopt the EN-226/8.X MW platform, with a rotor diameter of 226 meters. The average wind speed at the project site exceeds 7 m/s, and the units are configured for the high-humidity, high-salt-spray nearshore environment. According to the equipment supply plan, the first batch of 4 turbine sets was shipped from China to Vietnam in June of this year and subsequently moved to on-site hoisting.

During the project construction process, Envision Energy was responsible for turbine equipment supply and worked with Vietnam's local tower supply system to advance the manufacturing and delivery of large components. The project developer had previously planned to construct the two projects simultaneously and scheduled the full grid connection target for October 2026; REE's related project planning lists V1-3 Phase II, V1-5, and V1-6 Phase II as projects to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2026.

At present, the project has transitioned from equipment delivery to the continuous hoisting phase. The main subsequent engineering milestones include installation of the remaining turbines, electrical connections, unit commissioning, and grid connection. This installation also marks the on-site installation milestone of Envision Energy's EN-226/8.X MW platform in an overseas nearshore wind project.
