Wedoany.com Report-Jun 29, Eurowind Energy, a Danish renewable energy developer, has unveiled plans to construct a 220MW solar park in Vișina, Dâmbovița County, Romania. The €174.8 million project, the company’s largest in the country, is expected to produce 400GWh of renewable electricity annually, sufficient to power approximately 150,000 households.
Spanning 354 hectares, the solar farm will incorporate over 400,000 photovoltaic panels. The project includes upgrades to local infrastructure, such as a 7.5km agricultural access road, which will remain accessible to the public, enhancing community connectivity.
Adrian Dobre, Country Manager for Romania at Eurowind Energy, stated: “The Vișina project is a significant milestone for us – we’ve been working on it for several years, and we’re excited to see it moving closer to the construction phase.” He added: “We always think long-term, and where needed, we are ready to integrate storage solutions to support grid stability and contribute to the sustainable growth of the energy sector.”
The Vișina solar park marks Eurowind’s fifth solar development in Romania, following projects in Hălchiu, Măgurele, Pufești, and Teiuș. By the end of 2025, Eurowind anticipates operating 124MW of installed capacity in Romania, with a development pipeline of approximately 7.5GW across solar, wind, hybrid, and storage projects. The company’s efforts support Romania’s transition to sustainable energy and strengthen grid reliability.
