Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan and Anhui Discuss Joint Development of Industrial Park and Agricultural Demonstration Park

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 19, Jakhongir Mamajanov, Deputy Governor of Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan, and Sun Yong, Vice Governor of Anhui Province of China, held talks in China. The two sides held consultations on trade, investment, and industrial cooperation, and discussed building a multifunctional industrial park and a modern agricultural technology demonstration park in Tashkent Region. The talks also covered cooperation areas including automobile manufacturing, agricultural technology, logistics, green energy, and advanced technologies.

The Tashkent Region side proposed two park construction initiatives during the talks. Among them, the multifunctional industrial park is intended to serve as a vehicle for undertaking industrial investment and industrial cooperation, while the modern agricultural technology demonstration park is aimed at agricultural technology projects. The two sides also discussed attracting Chinese enterprises to participate in new investment projects in Tashkent Region. Currently, publicly available information has not disclosed the specific locations, construction scales, investment amounts, resident enterprises, construction periods, or development and operating entities of the two parks.

Agricultural cooperation had already been launched earlier. On August 28, Tashkent Region and the Anhui side held agricultural cooperation talks, proposing to expand the application of water-saving irrigation technology, build smart and green greenhouses, and discuss jointly building plant tissue culture laboratories and nurseries, carrying out localized testing of agricultural biotechnology and biological products, and advancing sericulture technology cooperation. The Tashkent Region government disclosed that in 2025, the locality attracted US$402 million in foreign direct investment from Anhui investors, and in the first seven months of 2026, it attracted another US$286 million.

These talks took place during a Tashkent Region delegation's visit to Anhui to participate in economic, trade, and industrial matchmaking activities. On September 19, Anhui Province held an economic and trade matchmaking meeting with Uzbekistan and Côte d'Ivoire, covering cooperation areas including agriculture and agricultural product processing, advanced manufacturing, the digital economy, green energy, infrastructure construction, and mineral resource development. Deputy Governor Mamajanov of Tashkent Region participated in the relevant activities. During these talks, the two sides also agreed to continue organizing enterprise forums, B2B matchmaking, and mutual visits.
