en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, Guangdong Lewei Five-Axis Precision Technology Co., Ltd. officially opened its new factory in Dalang Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China, for precision machining and production of humanoid robot components. According to project materials released by equipment supplier Afermi on October 29, the new plant plans to procure 100 five-axis machining centers. Dozens of five-axis simultaneous machining centers have already been progressively installed in the workshop, and the production facility has entered the stage of equipment configuration and capacity building.

The new plant mainly machines humanoid robot joint housings, reducer mating parts, and structural components, involving complex curved surfaces and thin-walled parts. As a five-axis CNC machine tool supplier, Afermi participates in equipment selection, process development, machine installation and commissioning, and batch production technical support for the new plant.

Lewei had previously used Afermi's GMU series five-axis machining centers to produce robot components. In July 2025, customer application materials published by Afermi showed that Lewei used GMU-800 equipment to machine complex structural parts and additionally purchased 4 GMU-400 and 6 GMU-600 five-axis machining centers in 2024. The construction of this new plant involves the subsequent centralized configuration of equipment, and the newly added equipment will serve the batch production of humanoid robot components.
