en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swedish industrial measurement technology company Hexagon has further detailed the functional upgrades of its Inspire 2026.1 3D measurement software. This version redesigns the point cloud data processing architecture, adds targetless scanning support for the Leica ATS800 laser tracker, and expands automatic inspection capabilities for industrial parts. According to performance data published by the company, large point cloud files open up to 50% faster, file storage space is reduced by up to 50%, and measurement distances can reach 40 meters.

Inspire 2026.1 adopts a unified point cloud architecture that centrally manages scan results, raw measurement data, and subsequent processing operations. The software retains raw scan data by default and supports voxel filtering, scan line filtering, data deletion, and restoration operations on point clouds. Users can readjust processing steps while preserving the correspondence between each operation and the original measurement records.

The new version integrates the Leica ATS800 laser tracker, supporting area scanning, line scanning, and feature scanning, enabling targetless measurement of workpieces at distances of up to 40 meters. The system incorporates geometric feature scanning—such as circles and slots—into a unified workflow, and uses an overview camera to enable scan range selection and automatic identification of measurement devices.

Hexagon has added an automatic re-measurement function for out-of-tolerance features. The system can identify geometric features whose inspection results exceed the tolerance range, guide the operator to re-measure them one by one, and re-check the results upon completion. Users can also set a maximum number of repeat measurements to control the execution of the inspection process.

Software performance upgrades also cover large-scale scan data processing. Hexagon's published data shows that memory usage and file size for some projects are reduced by up to 50%, point cloud voxelization processing performance is improved by 30% to 235%, and rendering performance in complex point cloud scenarios is increased by more than 5 times. The specific degree of improvement depends on data scale and processing tasks.

Inspire 2026.1 further expands the Python scripting interface, adding object copying, datum point generation, nominal dimension assignment, and automatic re-measurement operations, while also updating the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) processing interface. The software now supports design file formats including AutoCAD 2026, Revit 2026, SolidWorks 2026, NX 2512, Parasolid 38, and ACIS 2025.

This version is now available to existing users through Hexagon's Universal Updater. The company plans to demonstrate the software's integrated measurement capabilities with portable 3D scanning devices at the Advanced Engineering exhibition in the UK from November 4 to 5.
