Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 15, On August 12, 2025, Tesla launched the new Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant in China, with a starting price of 269,500 yuan. The company stated that this model achieves a CLTC-rated range of 830 kilometers and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
Tesla also confirmed that all four Model 3 variants available in China have received range improvements. The exterior design of the Model 3 remains unchanged, according to official images. The Long Range RWD variant is equipped with standard 18-inch wheels, with an option to upgrade to 19-inch wheels for an additional 6,000 yuan.
The vehicle is powered by a 225 kW electric motor and features a 78.4 kWh ternary-lithium battery pack supplied by LG.
Additionally, Tesla introduced the Model 3 Performance All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant, priced from 339,500 yuan. This model offers a CLTC range of 647 kilometers, an increase of 24 kilometers compared to the 2024 version, while maintaining its 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 3.1 seconds. Tesla noted: “The Performance AWD continues to deliver exceptional speed and efficiency at the same price point.”
According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, Tesla delivered 67,886 China-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in July 2025, including exports, reflecting a 5.2% decrease from June. The introduction of these enhanced models is expected to boost sales in the coming months, providing consumers with improved range and performance options.
