Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 12, CMA CGM has enhanced its rail network linking Central Europe through the Adriatic, expanding flexible, efficient, and cost-effective logistics solutions. The upgraded connections now integrate the Group’s three main maritime services — PHOENICIAN EXPRESS, BMS, and MAESTRALE — via the key ports of Rijeka, Koper, and Trieste.
Weekly departures have increased to 16 from the previous ten, providing faster and more reliable access to major Central European markets, including Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and surrounding regions. Transit times are now optimized to two days to Budapest and Dunajska Streda, and three days to Prague, improving supply chain efficiency and responsiveness for regional businesses.
By strengthening these inland connections, CMA CGM offers a direct and sustainable link between Asia and Central Europe via the Adriatic. Customers benefit from streamlined operations, reduced costs, and an expanded regional reach.
In a related development, AD Ports Group signed a Joint Venture and Shareholders agreement with France-based CMA CGM Group to acquire a 20 percent stake in the Latakia International Container Terminal (LICT) for AED 81 million ($22 million).
This investment complements CMA CGM’s broader strategy to reinforce its multimodal network and enhance connectivity between maritime and inland transport corridors, providing comprehensive logistics solutions for international trade.
The upgraded Adriatic rail services and strategic partnerships support CMA CGM’s goal of improving transit reliability, reducing operational costs, and enabling businesses across Europe and Asia to respond efficiently to market demands.
Through these measures, CMA CGM continues to strengthen its position as a leading integrated logistics provider while promoting sustainable and high-capacity transport solutions for the Central European and Mediterranean markets.
