Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 19, On 17 November 2025, Egypt's Ministry of Local Development signed a cooperation protocol with Sinai Cement Co. to improve waste management services in North Sinai. The agreement, aimed at reducing pollution and enhancing environmental standards, was formalized by Yasser Abdullah, CEO of the Waste Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA), and Tamer Magdy Ragab, Chairman of Sinai Cement, in the presence of Minister Manal Awad and Managing Director Pietro Cala.

The collaboration focuses on providing sustainable waste-management solutions. Minister Awad emphasized the importance of involving the private sector in environmental services, noting that such partnerships are crucial for improving community health and reducing environmental impacts. She highlighted that the initiative aims to cut solid waste volumes and prevent waterway pollution through practical, sustainable measures.

Tamer Magdy Ragab, Chairman of Sinai Cement, expressed his commitment to supporting both the community and the environment in North Sinai. "We believe environmental protection is a shared responsibility, and the private sector can offer practical solutions that complement the state’s efforts," he stated.
