Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 22, Jubilee Metals Group, a copper producer focused on Zambia, reported strong operational progress for the quarter ended 30 September 2025, the first quarter of its 2026 financial year. Copper production reached 938 tonnes, a 65% increase from 568 tonnes in the previous quarter, supported by stable power supply.
The Roan concentrator delivered 917 tonnes of copper in concentrate from third-party ore, benefiting from consistent feedstock quality. In September, the Molefe open-pit mine resumed high-grade ore deliveries to the Sable refinery following Pit 2 expansion, contributing 1,122 tonnes during the quarter. October deliveries met the targeted 3,500 tonnes, with a further increase to 4,500 tonnes planned by the end of November.
Lower-grade ore (0.7% copper) continues to be stockpiled at Molefe, exceeding two million tonnes by quarter-end and growing by approximately 70,000 tonnes monthly.
The company recorded 215 consecutive lost-time-injury-free days across its Zambian operations.
CEO Leon Coetzer said: “With both Roan and Sable processing plants now fully operational, and the Molefe openpit copper mine expanding successfully, our copper business is stabilising ahead of a new phase of growth. Jubilee still possesses the optionality to increase throughput further through both increased processing of historical tailings material and the introduction of the new Roan front-end although these will only be considered after the rainy season.”
He added: “The focus for the remainder of full year 2026 remains firmly on driving our copper strategy via our three-pillar strategy and ensuring stability in the operations in the country including key items such as feed rate, yields and cost control for our operations.”
Full-year 2026 copper production guidance has been set at 4,500 to 5,100 tonnes, subject to potential seasonal rainfall impact. The results highlight successful ramp-up of integrated mining and processing activities at Jubilee’s Zambian copper operations.
