Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 22, Novorossiysk Commercial Seaport (NCSP) has announced plans to build a dedicated mineral fertilizer terminal at the port of Novorossiysk, Russia, with total investment estimated at 28.4 billion rubles including VAT. The project was presented at the Transport of Russia 2025 forum.
The new terminal will have an annual throughput capacity of 6 million tonnes and is scheduled for construction between 2025 and 2030. It will handle urea, potash, and complex nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.
Key technical specifications include a 492-metre berth with 16.5-metre depth, warehouse storage for 296,000 tonnes, and capability to accommodate vessels ranging from 3,000 to 75,000 tonnes deadweight.
The facility will significantly expand NCSP’s specialized cargo handling infrastructure at Russia’s largest Black Sea port, supporting growing export volumes of mineral fertilizers.
NCSP operates major port assets in Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Territory), Primorsk (Leningrad Region), and Baltiysk (Kaliningrad Region). Transneft holds the largest shareholding, while the state owns 20% of the company.
The mineral fertilizer terminal reinforces Novorossiysk’s position as a key export gateway for Russian agricultural inputs to global markets.
