Wedoany.com Report-Dec.16, The cement carrier Hestia Cement has arrived at Yanbu Port in Saudi Arabia to load 14,000 tonnes of bulk cement produced by Yanbu Cement Company for delivery to Israel.

This voyage marks the first recorded direct shipment of cement from Saudi Arabia to Israel. The transaction reflects growing diversification in Israel's cement supply sources, particularly after trade adjustments involving Türkiye in 2024 led importers to seek alternative regional suppliers.

Yanbu Cement maintains substantial production and export capacity, regularly supplying more than 20 international markets. The company benefits from competitive manufacturing costs, positioning Saudi material favorably in price-sensitive destinations.

The Hestia Cement had previously completed several consecutive voyages carrying cement from Egypt to Israel. Egypt has served as the sole supplier to the Israeli market over the past 18 months. The entry of Saudi-origin cement is expected to introduce additional competition in this trade lane, potentially offering Israeli buyers greater choice and more attractive pricing options.

Industry observers note that proximity and efficient maritime routes between Red Sea ports and Israel continue to support cost-effective bulk deliveries from both Egypt and now Saudi Arabia. The development underscores ongoing adaptation in regional construction material flows to meet sustained demand in the Israeli market.
