Wedoany.com Report-Dec.22, Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has delivered the first L120 electric wheel loader in Indonesia to PT Tegas Guna Mandiri, an industrial company operating in mining and plantation sectors.

The first L120 Electric wheel loader in action in Indonesia.

The handover occurred on December 1 through Volvo CE's local dealer, Indotruck Utama, and marks the commercial introduction of this electric model in the country.

PT Tegas Guna Mandiri will deploy the wheel loader for port logistics and stockpile management tasks in the Jambi region, incorporating it into daily operations that require reliable material handling.

This acquisition supports the company's emphasis on improving operational efficiency while addressing environmental factors in its activities.

The delivery builds on Volvo CE's ongoing expansion of electric machinery in Indonesia. Previous introductions included the ECR25 electric compact excavator and L25 electric compact wheel loader in 2023, as well as earlier trials of the L25 electric model. The L120 electric represents a larger-capacity option for customers aiming to lower emissions without compromising performance.

Attendees at the handover ceremony included PT Tegas Guna Mandiri owner Eddy Gunawan, Indotruck Utama CEO Tjong Bie, Volvo CE representative Dwi Prihartono, Indotruck Utama major account plantation sales head Didi Muksin, and Indotruck Utama Jambi branch manager Julina.

Tjong Bie stated: "This handover is not just about introducing a new machine, but about helping our customers transition towards more sustainable and efficient operations.

"We see this as the beginning of a broader shift in how the industry approaches productivity and sustainability."

The introduction of the L120 electric aligns with Volvo CE's strategy to promote reduced-emission equipment across sectors such as mining, logistics, and plantations in Indonesia.

Erwin Budi, Volvo CE Indonesia and Timor Leste market head, said: "The delivery of the first L120 Electric in Indonesia is a significant step forward in our electrification roadmap for the market.

"It demonstrates our commitment to supporting Indonesian customers with solutions that reduce environmental impact while delivering the performance, reliability, and safety they expect from Volvo CE.

"This milestone also reflects the growing readiness of customers to adopt electric machines as part of their sustainability journey."

This development highlights increasing interest in electric construction equipment within Indonesia's industrial landscape.
