Wedoany.com Report-Dec.24, Norway's combined oil and gas production in November exceeded the official forecast by 0.9%, according to preliminary data released by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD) on Tuesday.
As Europe's leading supplier of natural gas and a significant oil producer, Norway's output from nearly 100 offshore fields fluctuates monthly due to scheduled maintenance and other operational interruptions.
Total production of oil, condensate, natural gas liquids, and gas averaged 0.694 million standard cubic metres per day in November, equivalent to 4.37 million barrels of oil equivalent. This represented a 0.9% increase compared to the same month the previous year.
Natural gas production averaged 361.5 million cubic metres per day, slightly below the 361.6 million cubic metres recorded a year earlier, yet surpassing the NOD forecast of 354.1 million cubic metres by 2.1%.
Crude oil output rose to 1.88 million barrels per day from 1.73 million barrels per day in November of the prior year, outperforming the projected 1.80 million barrels per day.
However, overall liquids production—including crude oil, condensates, and natural gas liquids—fell 0.5% short of the NOD's forecast.
Preliminary figures also indicate an average daily production of 2.09 million barrels of oil, NGL, and condensate for the month.
These results highlight stable performance across Norway's offshore operations despite variable conditions, with crude oil showing notable year-on-year growth.
The Norwegian Offshore Directorate regularly publishes such preliminary data to provide insights into monthly trends on the continental shelf.
Output variations remain influenced by field-specific factors, while Norway continues to maintain its position as a key energy supplier to the European market.
This data reflects the latest available information as of December 23, 2025.
