Wedoany.com Report-Dec.27, Dongfeng Motor's premium off-road new energy vehicle brand MHERO announced on December 26, 2025, that the 10,000th unit of its M817 model has rolled off the production line. This milestone highlights the rapid market acceptance and production ramp-up of the brand since its official debut earlier in the year.
At the same time, Dongfeng Motor confirmed it has achieved its 2025 full-year target of 1 million new energy vehicle (NEV) sales, demonstrating strong progress in its electrification strategy across multiple brands.
MHERO positions itself as Dongfeng’s high-end new energy off-road marque, combining serious off-road capability with intelligent technology and luxury elements. It complements other NEV series under Dongfeng, including VOYAH, eπ, Nammi, and Aeolus, allowing the group to address diverse customer preferences in the transition to new energy mobility.
The M817 was first introduced on August 17, 2025, with two initial variants priced at 319,900 yuan and 349,900 yuan. On September 29, the lineup expanded with the launch of the long-range M817 Max+, carrying an official guide price of 369,900 yuan to meet demand for greater electric range and premium features.
The vehicle adopts MHERO’s “Heroic Spirit Aesthetics 2.0” design language. The front end features a distinctive “lion’s roar” grille paired with an illuminated M-LOGO lamp cluster, creating a bold and high-tech appearance. Sculpted side body lines emphasize strength and presence, while the rear incorporates cross-shaped taillights and an external rounded rectangular storage box that reinforces its off-road identity.
Inside, the cabin uses a symmetrical horizontal-and-vertical layout for a solid, orderly feel, enhanced by metallic accents. Comfort is prioritized through extensive soft-touch materials, Nappa leather on seating surfaces, and premium suede-like fabrics covering the headliner and luggage compartment.
The M817 integrates Huawei’s full Qiankun intelligent vehicle solution, including Qiankun ADS 4 advanced driving assistance, HarmonySpace 5 cockpit system, vehicle-cloud integration, and intelligent vehicle control. These technologies enable adaptive performance across various terrains and seamless connectivity between the vehicle’s infotainment and users’ mobile devices.
Power is provided by a plug-in hybrid system that pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with electric motors in a P1+P3+P4 intelligent electric all-wheel-drive configuration. The combined system output is 505 kW with peak torque of 848 Nm, allowing a 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.2 seconds. Under CLTC conditions, the model offers a total range of up to 1,300 km, with fuel consumption in charge-sustaining mode as low as 7.24 liters per 100 km. The M817 Max+ is equipped with a standard 50.4 kWh CATL battery, extending pure electric range to 215 km and combined CLTC range to 1,365 km.
This production milestone and annual sales achievement reflect Dongfeng Motor’s successful execution of its multi-brand NEV strategy and growing momentum in the premium off-road new energy segment.
