Wedoany.com Report on Feb 9th, Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced that it will collaborate with global architectural design firms RAMSA and Morphosis to jointly carry out the redevelopment design work for the Apgujeong 3-dong residential district in Seoul's Gangnam District. This partnership aims to bring new design concepts and a high-quality living experience to the area.

RAMSA has a distinguished track record in the field of high-end residential design. Its projects in the United States, such as the "220 Central Park South" luxury residential tower in Manhattan, New York; "The Shore Club" in Miami; and "70 Vestry" in New York, hold a unique position in the ultra-high-price residential market nationwide due to their exceptional design. These projects not only showcase superb design craftsmanship but also reflect a precise understanding of high-end living demands.

The other partner, Morphosis, is equally noteworthy. Founded by Thom Mayne, the 2005 Pritzker Prize laureate, the firm is renowned worldwide for its organic, curvilinear forms and parametric design. Its works often break the framework of traditional architecture, displaying a unique sense of futurism and innovation.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction emphasized that this collaboration will skillfully integrate New York's high-end design sensibility into the Apgujeong 3-dong residential district. By utilizing a globally recognized design language, it will fully highlight the symbolic significance and residential value of this affluent area in Korea. A representative from Hyundai Engineering & Construction stated: "We will fuse RAMSA's classic, high-end aesthetic with Morphosis's organic, futuristic sculptural language to create a super-tall building reaching up to 65 stories. It will not only offer excellent views of the Han River but also carry the historical legacy of the Hyundai brand in Apgujeong, potentially becoming a representative landmark in Korea's residential sector."

The Apgujeong 3-dong residential redevelopment project is large-scale, planning to transform 3,934 old apartment units in the area around Apgujeong-dong 393-1 into a new residential complex with a total of 5,175 units. The area, bordered by the Han River to the north, is the largest within the Apgujeong redevelopment zone. This redevelopment will provide local residents with a higher-quality living environment and promote the overall development of the region.
