Wedoany.com Report on Feb 12th, Kemira announced the acquisition of SIDRA Wasserchemie to strengthen its water treatment solutions business in Europe and expand market coverage. The transaction is subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office and is expected to be completed in the first half of this year. The acquisition price is approximately 75 million euros and may be subject to customary adjustments.

SIDRA Wasserchemie is a family-owned company specializing in the production of coagulants, with two production sites in Germany, primarily serving customers in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. According to data, the company's revenue in 2024 was approximately 40 million euros, with an EBITDA of around 10 million euros. Following the completion of the transaction, over 60 employees will join the Kemira team.
Tuija Pohjolainen-Hiltunen, Executive Vice President of Kemira's Water Treatment Solutions, stated: "The acquisition of SIDRA Wasserchemie offers significant synergies and is a key step in our strategy to increase water-related revenue. This move will enhance our presence in our core business areas in Western and Central Europe, where demand for coagulants continues to grow."
