en.Wedoany.com Reported - Leica Geosystems (part of Hexagon) announced the launch of the new RTC series terrestrial 3D laser scanners on June 9, 2026, in Heerbrugg, Switzerland. The series includes three models—RTC300, RTC500, and RTC700—integrating technological advantages from the RTC360 and ScanStation P series platforms, achieving comprehensive upgrades in scanning speed, accuracy, and range. These scanners are widely applicable in fields such as surveying, construction, infrastructure, and industry.
Headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, Leica Geosystems is a global leader in geospatial measurement solutions and a subsidiary of Hexagon AB, Sweden. The newly released RTC series replaces the original RTC360/LT and ScanStation P30, P40, and P50 product lines. The three new scanners offer three performance levels, allowing users to flexibly choose based on project requirements and support capability upgrades as needs evolve.
In terms of core performance, the ranging capabilities of the three models vary: the RTC300 has a maximum range of 85 meters, the RTC500 reaches 130 meters, and the RTC700 extends up to 270 meters (all data are related to target surface reflectivity). This series of scanners shows significant improvements over the previous generation in data acquisition speed, measurement accuracy, and operational range.
A key innovation highlight of the RTC series is the realization of real-time workflow cloud connectivity. By pairing with the Leica Cyclone FIELD 360 field software and the Hexagon GeoCloud platform, scan data can be transmitted in real-time to cloud projects during acquisition. With a new feature called "Livelink," field operators can instantly upload scan data to Hexagon GeoCloud, and multiple scanners can simultaneously stream data to the same shared project in real-time. This capability enables teams to verify site coverage on-site, reduce rework, and begin data processing before field work is completed.
The launch of the RTC series marks a significant step toward more efficient and intelligent terrestrial 3D laser scanning technology. By combining high-speed data acquisition with real-time cloud collaboration, this product series is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency and collaboration in construction, surveying, and infrastructure projects.
