Wedoany.com Report on Mar 6th, TCL has recently unveiled a gaming monitor with a refresh rate exceeding 1000Hz, marking a new advancement in high refresh rate technology. This monitor utilizes Mini LED technology, enhancing brightness and color performance. Named the 27P2A Ultra, this 27-inch monitor can achieve a 550Hz refresh rate at 2K resolution, or reach 1040Hz via a dual-mode at 720p resolution. It is currently available for sale only in the Chinese market.

The refresh rates of gaming monitors continue to increase, providing competitive gamers with lower input latency. Increasing from 500Hz to 1000Hz can reduce latency by approximately one to two milliseconds. While this reduction is small, it may be attractive to players seeking an edge. To achieve the higher refresh rate, users need to switch to a lower resolution. However, the monitor still employs Mini LED technology, capable of delivering bright highlights and vibrant colors in HDR mode. The Samsung Odyssey G6 has a similar dual-mode feature but uses an IPS panel, which does not match the brightness of this Mini LED product.

Despite its fast refresh rate, this Mini LED monitor still falls short of OLED technology in terms of response time. Its gray-to-gray response time is 1ms, whereas OLED monitors can achieve 0.03ms, providing better motion clarity. TCL has also launched the 32X3A OLED monitor as part of its X series. This 31.5-inch monitor features 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. TCL refers to it as OLED+, combining multi-layer OLED panels with image tuning technology, offering a 0.03ms response time. Its dual-mode allows switching to a 480Hz refresh rate at 1080p.

The 32X3A OLED monitor is priced at 5,999 Chinese Yuan (approximately $870), while the price for the 27P2A Ultra has not yet been announced. TCL's new products showcase the combination of high refresh rates and advanced display technology, offering more choices for gamers.
