en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 27th, LG Electronics India has recently signed long-term solar power purchase agreements with Hinduja Renewables and Sunsure Energy, totaling 20.8 MW, to provide clean electricity for its manufacturing plants in Greater Noida and Pune. This collaboration involves sourcing 9.8 MW of solar power from Hinduja Renewables for the Pune facility and 11 MW from Sunsure Energy to supply the Greater Noida plant. It is expected to procure approximately 32.1 million units of renewable energy annually for these two plants, collectively reducing about 610,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the entire 25-year project lifecycle.

According to the agreements, Hinduja Renewables will supply 16.1 million units of clean electricity annually from a 27.7 MW solar power station in Nanded, Maharashtra, meeting about 40% of the Pune plant's energy needs and offsetting 310,000 tons of carbon dioxide during the project period. Meanwhile, Sunsure Energy will provide approximately 16 million units of renewable energy annually from an 82.5 MW solar power station in Erach, Uttar Pradesh, increasing the proportion of renewable energy usage at the Greater Noida plant to about 50% and reducing 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the project lifecycle.

These power purchase agreements are scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2026, marking LG Electronics India's first strategic equity investment in a special purpose vehicle for renewable energy generation in India to support the sustainability of its manufacturing operations. Through this initiative, LG Electronics India further advances its green energy goals, reduces its carbon footprint, and promotes the development of the local renewable energy market.
