en.Wedoany.com Reported - From March 17th to 18th, 2026, the working group for the national standard development project "Machine Tools for Laser Tool Processing - Accuracy Testing" held a seminar at the Beijing Institute of Electro-Machining in Beijing, China, to discuss and refine the draft standard. The meeting was chaired by Wang Ying, Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Special Processing Machine Tools of China. Seventeen expert representatives from ten organizations participated, including Beijing ANDI CNC, Beijing Institute of Electro-Machining, Guangzhou Origin Intelligent, Shenzhen Muji Laser, Suzhou Institute of Electro-Machining, Shenzhen Han's Laser, Shandong HOMAG CNC, Guangdong University of Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology, and the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association.

In the field of mechanical machining, the core material of cutting tools has evolved from high-speed steel to cemented carbide, ceramics, and ultra-hard materials such as polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN), enhancing cutting speed, surface quality, and precision. Ultra-hard material tools, due to their advantages of high efficiency and durability, are widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and mold making. Since 2006, Beijing ANDI CNC has introduced equipment including precision CNC EDM ultra-hard tool processing machines, CNC EDM wire-cut ultra-hard tool processing machines, and five-axis laser ultra-hard tool processing machines, supporting green, efficient, and precise machining production. To standardize the research, development, production, and acceptance of laser ultra-hard tool processing machines, Beijing ANDI CNC, in collaboration with the Beijing Institute of Electro-Machining and other units, proposed the related standard project in 2023. In 2024, two standards—technical specifications and accuracy testing—received national approval.
During the meeting, Dr. Jia Yunhai from the Beijing Institute of Electro-Machining presented the draft of "Machine Tools for Laser Tool Processing - Accuracy Testing" along with proposed revisions. Participating experts discussed inspection items such as geometric accuracy, positioning accuracy, and working accuracy, with a particular focus on the selection of the working accuracy inspection scheme. Representatives from machine tool manufacturers provided valuable suggestions, advancing the standard development process. Following the seminar, the draft is expected to be finalized as a review version by the end of March.
Concurrently, revision seminars were held for the two industry standards: "CNC EDM Grinding Machines for Ultra-Hard Tools - Part 1: Accuracy Testing" and "CNC EDM Grinding Machines for Ultra-Hard Tools - Part 2: Technical Specifications." As one of the original drafting units, Beijing ANDI CNC will continue to participate in the revision work.
