en.Wedoany.com Reported - On April 10, the construction of the second vessel (CHB2060) in the series of 11,400-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships built by China's Zhoushan Changhong International for OCEANROUTES was ignited and commenced at the digital intelligent workshop. This is the second vessel in the project's series of 18 ships, marking the official entry of Changhong International into the continuous construction phase of this bulk order.
This series of ships was jointly developed and designed by CIMC Offshore Research Institute (CIMC ORIC) and Changhong International. It is currently the project with the largest number of orders for a single 10,000-TEU ship type. The ship type employs key technologies such as wide-body optimized design, lightweight material application, and dual-fuel system integration, overcoming core challenges in areas like cost-effectiveness, lightweighting, system integration, and construction processes, holding significant benchmark importance.
The vessel has an overall length of approximately 299.95 meters, a molded breadth of 48.20 meters, and a molded depth of 27.0 meters, and is classed by DNV. By applying multiple energy-saving technologies including windshields, energy-saving ducts, and efficient twisted rudders, it effectively reduces main engine fuel consumption, meets the requirements of the latest effective regulations, and achieves an energy-saving target of over 30% reduction compared to the EEDI Phase III standard value.
