en.Wedoany.com Reported - Ghana's Oswal Enterprise Limited has stated that the construction of the Adentan-Dodowa road is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed ahead of schedule. Contractor data shows that, to date, the earthworks for this road construction project are 91.45% complete.

Curb laying work is currently underway at the ROWI intersection along the road, which is one of the preparatory tasks for the asphalt laying expected to begin next month. Site Engineer Mr. Joshua Allotey reported the above road construction progress last Thursday during a working visit to the project site by Ghana's Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwame Govers Aboza. Minister Aboza's inspection was part of his tour of road projects in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr. Allotey noted that earthworks on both sides of the road under construction are 91.41% complete, and drainage works are 66.30% complete. Twenty-eight culverts have been completed, representing 91.18% of the project's total plan, with the remaining sections expected to be finished in the short term. He further explained that the presence of buildings within the right-of-way in the Adentan, Amanfrom, and Bawelehi areas has caused delays in the construction of some drains and culverts. Owners of the affected permanent stores and buildings have been compensated and granted a grace period until the end of April to remove the structures to allow for the completion of the final earthworks and drainage works. After the owners' 30-day grace period, the contractor will access the relevant areas to accelerate the remaining road construction work.
Minister Aboza expressed satisfaction with the contractor's performance and praised the company's commitment. He pointed out that despite the debt restructuring program causing many road projects to stall, Oswal Enterprise Limited has remained on-site and continued construction. The Minister emphasized that all outstanding debts have been settled and assured that submitted payment certificates would be honored promptly to facilitate the early completion of this road construction project. Minister Aboza described the road as one of the busiest routes connecting the eastern corridor and stressed the need to accelerate progress to alleviate challenges faced by commuters and motorists.
Project Manager Mr. Gabriel Foley stated that the company remains committed to completing the road construction project ahead of schedule. Efforts have been intensified to complete the ongoing retaining wall and road separation works, while awaiting the removal of the remaining obstacles before the end of the month to finish the outstanding earthworks.
