en.Wedoany.com Reported - PolyExpert Inc. and Polykar Industries Inc. have completed a merger of equals to form a new company, Invera Flexibles. With combined annual sales exceeding $200 million and a workforce of 350 employees, the merger accelerates innovation in the North American specialty polyethylene film market.

The merger consolidates the R&D and production expertise of both companies in specialty polyethylene films, bags, and liners under a single brand. Key investors include Kent Road Capital, MontClerc Capital, President and CEO Amir Karim, and employee shareholders.

Invera Flexibles has committed up to $20 million to expand and modernize its facilities in Edmonton and Laval, Canada. Upon completion, the company's annual production capacity will exceed 150 million pounds, meeting market demand for high-quality flexible packaging films.

Karim stated: "I am deeply honored to carry forward the legacy of Polykar Industries and PolyExpert through Invera Flexibles. Together with our partners at Kent Road Capital and MontClerc Capital, we benefit from strong capital support and industry expertise, enabling us to further build a market-leading company that continues to innovate and deliver exceptional value to our North American customers."

The new company operates three facilities in Montreal, Laval, and Edmonton, focusing on converter films, industrial and food-grade packaging, agricultural films, and compostable solutions. The PolyExpert and Polykar brands will continue as distinct product lines while sharing the resources and scale of Invera Flexibles.

Dave Timm, Operating Advisor at Kent Road Capital, said: "Through this merger, customers now gain access to multiple facilities, experienced teams, and the capacity to grow together—a level of reliability and depth that is rare in the market." Mathieu L'Allier, Managing Partner at MontClerc Capital, added: "We are proud to support Invera Flexibles, a differentiated platform with strong fundamentals and a clear growth trajectory."

This merger builds on recent expansion momentum. In late 2024, Polykar completed an expansion of its Montreal facility, adding 22,000 square feet of space. In January 2025, Polykar selected Farmor Architecture to lead a $20 million expansion of its Edmonton plant, a project that will double capacity and create 25 permanent jobs upon completion. The company also appointed Dawson Wallace Construction Ltd. as the builder. Following the expansion, Polykar will add 50,000 square feet of production space, reaching an annual output of 40 million pounds by fall 2026. The Edmonton plant was originally built in 2019 with a $40 million investment. Through this flexible packaging merger, Invera Flexibles will further strengthen its position in the North American market.
