Bhatia noted that the project is expected to cut nearly 70,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. He pointed out that heavy industries like cement are among the hardest sectors to decarbonize, making it crucial to address this challenge. Oyster Renewable indicated that this project aligns with its larger plan to build 3.5 GW of hybrid renewable energy capacity by 2030, supported by a planned investment of approximately INR 300 billion.

For Dalmia Cement, this project is an integral part of its long-term decarbonization strategy. Dharmender Tuteja, CFO of Dalmia Bharat Ltd, said the project marks another important milestone in Dalmia Cement's renewable energy journey and reinforces the company's ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. According to the company, the hybrid project will enhance carbon efficiency at the plant level while helping to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.

Both companies stated that the project will also involve local workforce participation and regional supply chain collaboration in the Kandi village area of Andhra Pradesh.
