en.Wedoany.com Reported - Argentina's far-right liberal President Javier Milei plans to turn the country into a hub for the artificial intelligence industry. In a column for the British Financial Times, the economist stated that AI can help humanity overcome the inherent limitations of the human brain, pushing productivity into uncharted territory.

A legislative initiative proposed by the government aims to establish a legal framework for AI development in Argentina. Under this initiative, AI would remain largely unregulated in the country. Additionally, a new category would be introduced into Argentine corporate law, applicable to businesses primarily controlled by AI agents. These non-human companies would be subject to lower corporate taxes to enhance Argentina's appeal as an investment destination.

"We are opening the doors," Milei wrote in his column, "making Buenos Aires the Amsterdam of the AI era, just as Amsterdam was during the Age of Exploration." Recently, the Argentine president met with German-American investor Peter Thiel at the government residence, Casa Rosada, to discuss AI topics. According to media reports, Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and Palantir, now spends most of his time in Buenos Aires, where he has purchased property and enrolled his daughter in school.
