en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of State Security recently issued a safety alert, noting that with the rapid growth in demand for artificial intelligence applications, some "AI relay stations" suffer from issues such as lack of operational qualifications and weak security protections, and the risks of user privacy leakage and data resale cannot be ignored.

The so-called "AI relay station" is a proxy layer between users and the official services of AI model vendors. It integrates the application programming interfaces (APIs) of various AI model vendors onto a single platform, providing users with a unified calling service. Such relay stations allow users to access mainstream domestic and international large models through a single entry point without switching between multiple services. Their usage costs are often lower than official prices, they support mainstream domestic payment channels, and they can even help users bypass network access, official authorization, and cross-border transmission restrictions to directly connect to some overseas large models.

Currently, while "AI relay stations" offer low-cost and convenient services, they have also spawned a series of security risks. Some relay stations lack proper data encryption and control mechanisms, and even intercept user data privately to resell it to other large model vendors for system training, leading to privacy leaks. Others, in an effort to cut costs, use low-end models to impersonate high-end models, reduce computing power supply, and disable verification functions, resulting in significant deviations and poor logic in output content. Additionally, relay stations with hidden backdoors may become channels for criminals to implant malicious code into user devices, steal account keys, or cloud credentials. Furthermore, some relay stations, without obtaining data export compliance qualifications or fulfilling the legal procedures for security assessments, arbitrarily transmit user input data to overseas servers, potentially causing the leakage of personal privacy, trade secrets, or even state secrets.

The Cyberspace Administration of China has deployed a special campaign titled "Qinglang·Rectifying AI Application Chaos," with the core goals of regulating AI services and applications, promoting the healthy and orderly development of the industry, and protecting citizens' legitimate rights and interests. The Ministry of State Security recommends that users choose platforms that are officially connected, properly authorized, and secure and compliant, desensitize sensitive data, manage keys properly and regularly replace credentials, and disable non-essential functions such as collaborative operations and data sharing. If abnormal charges, unjustified account suspensions, or data anomalies are encountered, users should immediately stop using the service, change keys, scan for viruses, and preserve evidence; if suspicious clues such as the use of relay stations to steal state secrets are discovered, they can report them to state security authorities via the 12339 hotline, the online reporting platform (www.12339.gov.cn), or the reporting channel on the WeChat public account of the Ministry of State Security.
