en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hutchinson Transport has signed a multi-year contract with AdBlue supplier GreenChem Solutions, marking its first entry into the dedicated AdBlue delivery sector. This is an early significant achievement under the company's new ownership.
Under the agreement, Hutchinson will operate two dedicated bulk tankers on behalf of GreenChem, delivering AdBlue to truck and bus operators, fuel stations, agricultural users, and other commercial sites across the UK.
The contract was signed after brothers Rhys Hutchinson and Nathan Hutchinson completed a management buyout of Hutchinson Transport and Hutchinson Technical Services on April 1. Rhys, previously Operations Director, now serves as Managing Director of Hutchinson Transport, while Nathan has taken over as Managing Director of the group's workshop operations.
Rhys Hutchinson described the deal as a key step in the company's growth plans. He said: "Signing a contract with a major AdBlue manufacturer like GreenChem is an exciting step in our current growth strategy. GreenChem needed a transport partner that could respond quickly and complete tasks efficiently and safely. We moved fast, invested in the right equipment, and worked closely with their team to ensure operations were set up correctly from day one."
The two vehicles are based in Hull and operate nationwide, making 10 to 15 deliveries per day. Route planning utilizes telemetry data from GreenChem's customer tanks, scheduling deliveries based on inventory levels and demand. The fleet includes DAF and Volvo tractors, equipped with dedicated bulk tankers and metering systems, allowing drivers to precisely dispense AdBlue quantities and provide customers with printed delivery records.
Jack Haynes, Sales Engineer and Account Manager at GreenChem Solutions, said Hutchinson's responsiveness and engineering expertise secured the contract. He said: "What impressed us was Hutchinson's professionalism and attention to detail, as well as their willingness to meet all our requirements to win the business. We have already seen that if a truck or tanker has an issue, they can handle it quickly and get it back on the road. This is crucial for this type of operation, as minimizing downtime is really important."
Hutchinson Transport was founded by Bruce Hutchinson in 2000 with a single ISO tank container. It now operates bases in Middlesbrough, Hull, Immingham, Runcorn, and Purfleet, with nearly 40 trucks and 85 dedicated bulk chemical trailers.
