en.Wedoany.com Reported - Annica Holdings Limited, based in Singapore, has secured a commercial renewable energy project in Sarawak, Malaysia, expanding its operations into hydrogen-powered grid construction in the country's rural areas.

The company's renewable energy subsidiary, H2 Energy Sdn Bhd, has received a letter of acceptance from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak to design and deploy an integrated solar and hydrogen system for the Kampung Assum Living Lab project. This initiative involves off-grid power solutions supported by hydrogen technology and is expected to commence implementation by the end of June 2026.

Annica stated that the project successfully converts a non-binding memorandum of understanding signed in 2024 into a commercial contract. Sarawak is developing its renewable energy industry, but due to geographical reasons, parts of the state remain outside the national grid, and Annica noted that the system primarily targets these off-grid communities.

Additionally, Annica is in extended discussions regarding a framework agreement between its subsidiary, Cahya Suria Energy Sdn. Bhd., and Travia Consultancy Services Pte. Ltd., aiming to include diesel-grade products produced from waste tires. The two companies currently operate a waste tire recycling facility in Tanjung Malim, Malaysia, equipped with 13 pyrolysis production lines. The facility is designed with an annual processing capacity of up to 40,000 metric tons of tires and is currently undergoing retrofitting and licensing work, with commercial production expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The proposed expansion is based on a framework agreement signed in September 2025, and the two companies are working to improve feedstock supply and output quality by enhancing the pyrolysis process and increasing tire sourcing. Annica is conducting a renounceable rights issue of up to 168.455 million new shares at SGD 0.034 (USD 0.0266) per share. If fully subscribed, the company expects to raise up to SGD 5.23 million (USD 4.09 million) for project development, working capital, investor relations, and debt reduction.

Annica's Executive Director and CEO, Sandra Liz Hon Ai Ling, stated that the company will continue to advance more renewable energy projects and anticipates growth in output from its recycling facility once it becomes operational. (1 USD = 1.28 SGD)
