en.Wedoany.com Reported - The mining environmental certifications approved by Peru's National Service for Environmental Certification for Sustainable Investments (Senace) have generated an economic impact of over $36.4 billion between 2024 and May 2026, creating conditions for the country's sustainable development and responsible investment.
During this period, Senace approved a total of 189 environmental feasibility applications, accounting for 83% of the total $43.8 billion in approved certification value.
Through a rigorous technical evaluation process, effective citizen participation, and continuous improvement in public management, Senace has contributed to strengthening the environmental institutional framework and creating conditions of trust, predictability, and sustainable development. Silvia Cuba, Executive President of Senace, stated at the Sixteenth National Mining Congress (Conamin XVI) held in La Libertad that the institution's management aims to improve the efficiency, transparency, and predictability of environmental certification, promoting effective citizen participation with a gender equality and intercultural perspective, thereby creating conditions for sustainable investment that supports economic growth, reduces gaps, and enhances public well-being while respecting the environment and people.
Since 2024, Senace has launched a new phase of institutional strengthening based on process modernization and technological innovation, introducing artificial intelligence tools to enhance environmental management efficiency and making citizen dialogue a core component.

Currently, Senace is evaluating 39 applications in the mining sector, involving potential investments of nearly $8 billion. These applications will continue to be assessed based on technical, environmental, and citizen participation criteria to align with the country's sustainable development goals.
