en.Wedoany.com Reported - The UK Government Commercial Agency (GCA) has recently awarded seats to suppliers under a new major cross-government framework that will provide a wide range of construction professional and consultancy services, open to public sector organisations over the next four years.

The Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) framework, numbered RM6356, replaces the previous RM6165 arrangement and aims to deliver professional services in areas such as infrastructure, the built environment, and defence. According to the GCA, the estimated value of the framework over the four-year period is £4.2 billion (£3.5 billion excluding VAT).

CPS2 is divided into 11 lots, covering general infrastructure and the built environment, construction, project management, commercial management, defence, international projects, nuclear energy, and specialist flood risk and asset management services. Among these, Lots 9a, 9b, and 9c (related to flood risk and asset management) are exclusively available to the Environment Agency. The GCA exercised its modification rights during the procurement process, increasing the number of designated suppliers for Lot 1 (General Infrastructure and Built Environment) from 22 to 27 to address the growing demand following the agency's establishment earlier this year. The GCA also amended the minimum inclusion rule from 1% to 3%, stating that this would provide contracting authorities with more supplier options.

Award decisions for all 11 lots were made earlier this year, with slightly different contract start dates for each lot. The framework is open to central government departments as well as broader public sector bodies, including local authorities, the NHS, emergency services, housing providers, and devolved administrations. Services provided through the framework cover project and commercial management, engineering, architecture and design, cost management, and environmental and sustainability services.

Among the many successful bidders, Aecom and Mott MacDonald emerged as the biggest winners, securing designations across multiple lots covering infrastructure, defence, international, nuclear, and flood risk. AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs, Ramboll, WSP, Arcadis, and Tetra Tech also won seats across several lots.
