en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), together with Three i's Capital Co., Ltd., has arranged a Japanese Operating Lease with Purchase Option (JOLCO) financing for Viva Aerobus (Viva), a Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier, to support an A321neo aircraft delivered in May 2026. This marks the first time Viva has utilized a JOLCO structure for financing and the first time Three i's Capital has invested in an aircraft JOLCO.
In this transaction, MUFG served as the sole structuring agent and lender, while Three i's Capital acted as the equity underwriter. Aqmar Chowdhury, Deputy Head of Aviation Origination for the Americas at MUFG, stated that the deal reflects the ongoing evolution of Viva's fleet strategy and demonstrates MUFG's ability to leverage its aviation expertise and network in Japan to provide innovative solutions. Ciprian Rodriguez, Director of Fleet Management at Viva Aerobus, noted that the transaction broadens the range of financing solutions supporting fleet growth, strengthening the partnership with MUFG while continuing to execute the long-term fleet strategy. Masanori Sueoka, CEO of Three i's Capital, commented that the deal opens a partnership in a new asset class and looks forward to further expansion as a regular player in the aviation leasing sector.
