en.Wedoany.com Reported - Axia Energia has completed the modernization of two substations in Ivaiporã, Paraná, and Itaberá, São Paulo, with a total investment of 1.11 billion reais, finishing five months ahead of the deadline set by Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The projects entered commercial operation last Saturday (27th), primarily involving the replacement of nine 765 kV series capacitor banks, which are critical for enhancing transmission safety and efficiency.

Six new capacitor banks were installed at the Ivaiporã substation, and three were added at the Itaberá substation, including those on the Itaberá–Tijuco C1 transmission line, which is vital for the power supply in São Paulo state. Axia Energia stated that the modernization reduced risks associated with aging equipment, improved transmission capacity, and decreased power system losses.
With the project completion, Axia met the authorization resolution issued by ANEEL in 2022, with an adjusted annual permitted revenue (RAP) of 229 million reais. According to the company, the project created 2,209 direct and indirect jobs during execution. The company had previously announced a 3.53 billion reais investment plan for upgrading transmission infrastructure in southern Brazil, involving 44 large-scale projects.
