en.Wedoany.com Reported - Singapore Airlines will utilize its fleet of 12 Airbus A380 aircraft this year to serve nine destinations across its global network. The carrier selected these markets for the large aircraft based on passenger demand, as the A380's efficient operation heavily relies on market demand. It is expected that for the remainder of this year, Singapore Airlines will operate up to 10 A380 flights daily.

Singapore Airlines was the launch customer for the A380 and historically received 24 of these aircraft. Its current A380 fleet has been reduced to half of its past size, but it remains the second-largest operator of the aircraft type, tied with British Airways. Due to the A380's extremely high capacity, all operators except Emirates are very cautious in deploying this aircraft.
Among the nine routes, only two—Singapore Changi Airport to London Heathrow Airport and Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport—will see double-daily A380 services. The carrier has observed substantial demand on these two routes, ensuring sustained double-daily operations for years. The airline's A380 services this winter will increase by 29% compared to last year.

Since the outbreak of the Middle East conflict, the region's super-hubs have not fully recovered. Seizing the opportunity, Singapore Airlines has actively expanded its route network and operational scale to Europe and Australia this year, positioning itself as an alternative for passengers transiting through Middle Eastern airlines. In Europe, the carrier plans to operate a record 128 weekly flights, equivalent to up to 18 daily departures. The UK market will see an increase of five weekly flights operated by Singapore Airlines. Before the end of the International Air Transport Association summer schedule, the airline will operate daily A380 flights to Frankfurt Airport.
In Australia, the carrier also sets a record for flight numbers this year, with up to 23 daily flights after the winter schedule begins. This includes resuming daily A380 services to Melbourne, complementing the double-daily A380 services to Sydney. Additionally, the airline will begin deploying daily A380 services to Auckland Airport from the end of October.

Although the A380 is designed to carry a large number of passengers, Singapore Airlines configures its cabins with lower density, placing greater emphasis on premium cabins. The airline's A380 fleet can accommodate a total of 470 passengers across four cabin classes. According to data from aviation seat map analysis website aeroLOPA, the cabin configuration is: 6 first-class suites in a 1-1 layout; 78 business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout; 44 premium economy seats in a 2-4-2 layout; and 342 economy class seats in a 3-4-3 layout. The carrier is renowned for its luxurious onboard products and reputation for premium cabins, with its A380 fleet equipped with refurbished new products. The first-class product, "Singapore Suites," is considered one of the best first-class products in the sky.
