en.Wedoany.com Reported - The signing ceremony for the 400,000-ton annual recycled copper comprehensive utilization project of Guangxi Fu'al Aluminum Co., Ltd. was held on June 30, 2026, at the Party and Government Office Building in Fusui County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi. The project was jointly signed by the Chongzuo Airport Economic Synergy Zone Management Committee and Guangxi Fu'al Aluminum Co., Ltd., and is planned to be located in the China-ASEAN Youth Industrial Park.
Guangxi Fu'al Aluminum Co., Ltd. is an aluminum enterprise based in Chongzuo City, Guangxi. According to public information, the company was established in 2020 with a registered capital of 50 million RMB, primarily engaged in metal material manufacturing, non-ferrous metal rolling and processing, and common non-ferrous metal smelting. The 400,000-ton annual recycled copper comprehensive utilization project covers an area of approximately 227 mu (about 15.13 hectares) and will be constructed in three phases. It will introduce internationally leading recycled copper smelting, refining, and continuous casting technologies to achieve efficient and clean recycling of scrap copper resources. Upon full completion and operation, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of recycled copper, with an estimated annual output value of 40 billion RMB, providing 600 jobs and effectively driving the agglomeration and development of supporting industries.
Recycled copper refers to copper products produced from scrap copper through processes such as smelting and refining. Compared with primary copper production, recycled copper production offers significant energy-saving and emission-reduction advantages—each ton of recycled copper produced saves approximately 85% of energy and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 65% compared to primary copper. China is the world's largest copper consumer, but domestic copper mine resources are relatively scarce, with external dependence remaining above 70% for a long time. Developing the recycled copper industry not only helps alleviate the pressure on domestic copper resource supply but also serves as an important pathway for promoting the circular economy development of the non-ferrous metals industry. In recent years, the state has successively issued policy documents such as the "14th Five-Year Plan for Circular Economy Development" and the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Comprehensive Utilization of Industrial Resources," explicitly encouraging the recycling of waste non-ferrous metals and promoting the high-quality development of the recycled non-ferrous metals industry.
The signing of the 400,000-ton annual recycled copper comprehensive utilization project by Guangxi Fu'al Aluminum is a significant move for Chongzuo City, Guangxi, in undertaking industrial transfer and developing the circular economy. The China-ASEAN Youth Industrial Park is one of the key industrial parks developed by Chongzuo City. The project's settlement will further improve the non-ferrous metal processing industry chain layout within the park. Upon full operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 40 billion RMB, becoming an important pillar of Guangxi's non-ferrous metal circular economy industry, and positively contributing to the high-quality development of the regional economy and the green and low-carbon transformation of the non-ferrous metals industry.
