Grindinghub 2026 in Stuttgart Highlights Grinding Trends
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Grindinghub 2026 trade fair was held in Stuttgart, attracting approximately 11,000 professional visitors and 462 exhibitors from 28 countries worldwide, who gathered to learn about the latest developments and innovations in grinding technology and engage in in-depth technical exchanges. The focus of the exhibition was no longer limited to individual machines but centered on the overall process chain. Data-based quality assurance and methods for more efficient use of tools, cooling lubricants, and peripheral systems also complemented the overall solutions. With over 50% of exhibitors coming from abroad, the event demonstrated that the relevant topics impact not only the German-speaking market but also the global grinding technology industry. Additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence also played a role at the fair.

Grindinghub thus confirmed its position as an international core platform covering the grinding process chain, including grinding technology, surface finishing, tool grinding, measurement technology, automation, and digital processes. At the same time, the fair reflected the current pressures facing the industry, including declining production volumes, weak exports, rising energy and material costs, and volatile sales markets. For this reason, the 2026 edition no longer emphasized isolated individual machines but instead highlighted efficient, robust process chains, where sensors, measurement data, and digital feedback are used for process monitoring and quality assurance.
According to the organizer, the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW), the 2026 fair showed a clear shift compared to the 2024 edition. The previous edition had already established automation, digitalization, sustainability, cooling lubricant guidance, and new grinding tool concepts as core themes, while the 2026 fair placed greater emphasis on the systemic nature of the grinding process. The organizer observed that grinding is no longer primarily seen as a single operation but as a networked process involving machines, tools, sensors, measurement technology, data management, automation, and services. Consequently, many innovations in 2026 were not solely aimed at improving individual process parameters. Process stability, reducing operator burden, traceability, energy efficiency, and quality assurance became new focal points, reflected in integrated measurement and compensation systems, data-based spindle and machine condition models, automated dressing and tool manufacturing units, and new tool concepts capable of removing more material under controlled thermal loads.
