The joint venture, established with substantial capital investment from both parties, aims to provide high-end water and wastewater treatment systems for India's rapidly growing semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing industries. This collaboration combines Kurita Water Industries' global technical expertise in water treatment, particularly for semiconductor applications, with Membrane Group India's local engineering capabilities, manufacturing strength, and project execution experience.
Peeyush Narang, Managing Director of Membrane Group India, stated that India has the opportunity to become a global semiconductor manufacturing hub, and water infrastructure is a key factor in realizing this vision. The joint venture is committed to providing ultrapure water, wastewater recovery, and sustainable water management solutions for India's semiconductor industry, supporting the development of next-generation semiconductors and advanced electronics manufacturing.
The two companies stated that the joint venture reflects a long-term strategy to deliver globally benchmarked technologies, with a focus on improving water efficiency, increasing wastewater recovery, recovering resources, and reducing environmental impact. This move is also part of Membrane Group India's strategic expansion into India's semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, supported by GEF Capital Partners.
Kurita Membrane India will offer a range of water solutions, including ultrapure water (UPW) systems for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, wastewater recovery and reuse solutions, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems, resource recovery technologies, and water analysis and laboratory services. The company will also provide end-to-end engineering, installation, commissioning, and operational support, along with a dedicated ultrapure water analysis center for testing and process optimization.
