en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cemex has supplied low-carbon cement, specialty concrete mixes, and ready-mix concrete for several strategic highway projects in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany, aiming to enhance regional transport connectivity, road durability, and driving safety.

In northern Poland, Cemex participated in the construction of a 13-kilometer new section of the S6 Expressway, connecting Gdańsk, Szczecin, and the Polish-German border. The project used Vertua® cement, which has a reduced carbon footprint from the development stage.
In the Czech Republic, Cemex provided specialty concrete mixes for the D35 Motorway, a key corridor linking Hořice and Sadová, as well as the regions of Bohemia and Moravia. The concrete formulation was enhanced for resistance to frost, road salt, and de-icing agents, aiming to improve pavement durability under harsh winter conditions.
Cemex also supplied ready-mix concrete for a new two-lane overpass at the Nuremberg-East highway interchange in Germany, used for the superstructure, abutments, and piers. The bridge, approximately 600 meters long, will alleviate traffic congestion in the Nuremberg area and improve road connectivity between the country's northeast and south.
Graham Russell, Vice President of Materials Europe, stated that Cemex is proud to contribute to multiple strategic highway projects in Central Europe. These new transport corridors bring significant benefits to road users by enhancing connectivity, improving low-temperature durability, optimizing traffic flow, and helping maintain safe road conditions. Together, they continue to support the development of critical road infrastructure in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
