en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazilian company Tramontina has invested in the development of an electrical control panel with an "Ex tb" type of protection, designed for hazardous areas with combustible dust, to address the growing safety and compliance needs in industries such as Brazilian agribusiness, logistics, and chemicals.
This control panel was custom-developed by the company's domestic engineering team, which analyzes each application scenario to determine the most suitable configuration. The product can be manufactured in different sizes to meet project requirements and offers a carbon steel option, balancing mechanical strength and cost. Equipment with an "Ex tb" type of protection prevents combustible dust from entering and coming into contact with components that may generate sparks or reach ignition temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of explosion. The panel complies with the EPL Db protection level, suitable for combustible dust environments, and features a construction design optimized for hazardous areas, serving as an alternative to other "Ex" types of protection.
This solution can be applied in various industrial and logistics environments, particularly in agribusiness and port operations, including grain terminals, tunnels with conveyor belts, silos, warehouses, hoppers, and bucket elevators. It also serves the chemical, petrochemical, and fertilizer industries, which operate under strict safety conditions. Tramontina's "Ex tb" panel is designed for low-voltage systems, has been tested in laboratories accredited by Inmetro (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology), and complies with ABNT NBR IEC 60079-0 and ABNT NBR IEC 60079-31 standards, which specify "Ex" types of protection for electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres. The panel has obtained the required Ex compliance certificate for use in hazardous areas.
