en.Wedoany.com Reported - Schaeffler India has become the first company to obtain a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) license for Cylindrical Roller Bearings (CRB) under the newly introduced Indian standard, with its manufacturing facilities in Maneja and Savli, Gujarat, receiving certification. Additionally, the company has also secured BIS licenses for Deep Groove Ball Bearings (DGBB) at these two plants, reinforcing Schaeffler India's focus on manufacturing quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to updated industry standards.

Against the backdrop of India's growing emphasis on product quality and standardization in the manufacturing sector, the BIS certification marks Schaeffler India as one of the early adopters of the country's updated quality framework. Cylindrical roller bearings are widely used in industrial machinery, automotive applications, and heavy equipment, demanding high performance and reliability. This certification is expected to enhance customer confidence in locally manufactured bearing solutions while supporting the overall improvement of industry quality benchmarks.
Harsha Kadam, Managing Director and CEO of Schaeffler India, stated that this achievement reflects the company's commitment to quality, operational excellence, and customer trust. He noted that being the first to obtain a BIS license for cylindrical roller bearings under the new standard demonstrates Schaeffler India's readiness to meet evolving regulatory and industry requirements.
The latest certification further strengthens Schaeffler India's position in the industrial and automotive markets, where bearings play a critical role in enabling efficient and reliable operation. The company operates five manufacturing plants, three research and development centers, five sales offices, and an extensive industrial and automotive aftermarket network in India. With a history of over 60 years in the country, Schaeffler India employs more than 3,800 people. As manufacturers increasingly focus on compliance, localization, and product quality, the BIS certification is expected to play a significant role in enhancing trust in domestically produced bearing solutions and supporting India's industrial growth ambitions.
