en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the Expert Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Expert Committee) of the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) held a meeting in Beijing to analyze and discuss the economic operation situation of the machinery industry in the first half of 2026. The meeting was chaired by Chen Bin, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee. Attendees included Luo Junjie, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee and Standing Committee Member of the CMIF Party Committee and Vice President; Cai Weici, Special Commissioner of the Expert Committee; Song Zhiming and Ye Dingda, Vice Presidents of CMIF; Li Yanxia, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer; and She Weizhen, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee, Chief Economist, and Deputy Secretary-General.
The meeting reported on the completion of major economic indicators for the machinery industry from January to May 2026. Participating experts exchanged and analyzed the economic operation of various industries in the first half of 2026. They also proposed relevant policy measures and suggestions on expanding domestic demand to stabilize growth, enhancing the resilience of the industrial and supply chain, and promoting independent innovation and application of high-end equipment.
The meeting concluded that China's machinery industry operated steadily overall in the first half of 2026, with foreign trade maintaining good growth. However, the industry still faces issues such as declining profits, insufficient investment momentum, and low capacity utilization in some sectors. Going forward, the Expert Committee will further organize special seminars on these key and difficult issues to propose countermeasures and suggestions.
Committee members representing various industries spoke at the meeting, including Chen Shihua, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers; Zhang Qiuhong, Chief Engineer of the China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association; Tang Chao, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association; Li Ruoping, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association; Guo Changcheng, Vice President of the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association; Niu Hui, Vice Chairman of the China Bearing Industry Association; Lyu Ying, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Construction Machinery Association; Wang Shichao, Deputy Secretary-General of the China General Machinery Association; and Lin Song, Vice President of the Machinery Industry Information Research Institute.
Relevant responsible comrades from the CMIF's Industry Development Department, International Cooperation Department, and Statistics and Information Department attended the meeting.
