Representatives from the country's Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs held talks with the Ivorian delegation and United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Technology Envoy Amandeep Singh Gill, focusing on advancing priorities for AI governance in West Africa.

The discussions centered on reinforcing the objectives of the Global AI Dialogue while identifying opportunities for enhanced collaboration among West African nations in AI development and governance. Key priorities include formulating a sub-regional AI strategy, harmonizing regulatory frameworks, strengthening government and institutional capacity building, and promoting responsible, ethical, and inclusive AI governance. Senegal emphasized that closer regional cooperation is crucial to ensuring that African countries shape AI policies that reflect their development priorities and support sustainable economic growth.
Senegal stated that these objectives align with the "New Deal Technologique" initiative, which places digital transformation, innovation, and emerging technologies at the core of the national development agenda. By participating in the Global AI Dialogue, Senegal continues to advocate for stronger international and regional partnerships, aiming to build digital capacity, advance responsible AI applications, and position itself as a key player in Africa's digital economy.
