en.Wedoany.com Reported - Philippines renewable energy firm Berde Renewables has signed a three-year master framework agreement with China's Sungrow Power Supply and its regional distributor Solar Hive to procure 200 megawatts of solar equipment and 500 megawatt-hours of battery energy storage systems for commercial and industrial projects in the Philippines and Thailand. This multi-year agreement locks in equipment prices, supply, and technical specifications in advance, helping Berde Renewables reduce procurement delays and accelerate on-site development progress for multiple commercial and industrial solar-plus-storage projects in both countries.

The agreement involves the procurement of Sungrow solar inverters and battery energy storage systems. The inverters convert the direct current output from photovoltaic modules into alternating current that meets grid requirements, supporting approximately 200 megawatts of solar capacity across Berde's project pipeline in the Philippines and Thailand. The bundled procurement of 500 megawatt-hours of energy storage systems ensures that storage deployment can be synchronized with solar project timelines. This "solar-plus-storage" solution aims to support commercial and industrial users in achieving peak shaving, load shifting, and stabilizing intermittent power generation, thereby enhancing the reliability and economic value of solar energy. Adopting a unified Sungrow supply chain for projects in both countries simplifies engineering design and commissioning processes, ensuring consistency in performance, protection schemes, and operational modes for inverters and storage configurations.

The framework agreement adopts a master agreement structure, allowing Berde to place orders in batches based on specific projects within the three-year period, rather than committing to the full capacity at once, thereby flexibly responding to demand changes and permitting and bidding schedules. Solar Hive will be responsible for regional logistics, spare parts supply, technical support, and after-sales service, ensuring the availability of solar and energy storage systems throughout the project lifecycle. The company also plans to conduct training and certification to help Berde's partner network and stakeholders properly operate and maintain the equipment, improving safety, commissioning quality, and long-term performance. Additionally, both parties will engage in joint market development to identify project opportunities suitable for the solar-plus-storage economy and promote coordination among stakeholders. For specific projects, supplier-supported financing or co-investment options may be offered to lower the capital threshold for the initial deployment of 200 megawatts of solar and 500 megawatt-hours of storage. Through this repeatable procurement and support model, Berde is expected to lay the foundation for expanding to subsequent sites after the three-year period ends.
